I have been lucky enough to sign up for a once in a lifetime trip with my school (Granville Academy), facilitated by African Adventures and Burton Albion Commuity Trust (Brewers), to volunteer at a partner school in Nakuru, Kenya.
Here I will be involved with teaching and sports coaching but also hope to be able to help with building and renovating facilities at the school.
I can't wait to be immersed in Kenyan culture, see an elephant orphanage and a giraffe sanctuary, go on safari, stand on the equator and see the Makalia waterfall and Menengai crater.
However, in order to be able to go I must fundraise to support the cost of my trip. This is a huge part of the experience for me to earn the privilege of visiting Kenya to help make a difference to the lives of children less fortunate than myself.
I have 18 months to raise as much as I can and have lots of fund raising ideas to help reach my target. I am determined and excited to make the most of this opportunity to help my partner school in Kenya.
Thank you for reading my story.
